  • increases the performance of your harddisk resp. reduces itīs noise level by adjusting the Automatic Acoustic Management (AAM) settings;
  • immediate control of effectiveness of any changed settings (benchmark for access time determination included);
  • supports device models from all vendors;

[03.06.2003]Futuremark and nVidia have issued a joint statement relating to 3DMark03 and optimizations. The statement says:

Both NVIDIA and Futuremark want to define clear rules with the industry about how benchmarks should be developed and how they should be used. We believe that common rules will prevent these types of unfortunate situations moving forward.

[28.05.2003]AIDA 2.06 and AIDA32 3.60 are now available for download! Both programs include: support for the latest hardware, including nVIDIA GeForce FX 5900, nVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra, nVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 Go, nVIDIA Quadro FX 500, nVIDIA Quadro FX 3000 and SiS 340 Xabre II video chips, more low-level information (details).
In addition, AIDA32 3.60 includes the following new features: automatic uploading of report files to FTP servers, Disk Benchmark, which provides 5 benchmarking modes. Moreover, now ADIA32 supports plugins. [23.05.2003]Futuremark Corporation has released a patch 330 for 3DMark03!
Recently, there have been questions and some confusion regarding 3DMark03 results obtained with certain NVIDIA drivers. Futuremark has now established that NVIDIA's Detonator FX drivers contain certain detection mechanisms that cause an artificially high score when using 3DMark03. The company has just published a patch 330 for 3DMark03 that defeats the detection mechanisms in the drivers and provides correct results.

[14.05.2003]CDCheck 3.1.0.5b has been released! It has a few of bugfixes.

FRAPS 2.0 is coming out in the next few weeks! According to fraps.com, FRAPS 2 includes the following new features: sound is now captured along with the video of games, new Fraps codec allows for movie resolutions up to 1024x768, full gamma support so what you see on screen is what is saved to the movie, new system requirements: Win2K or WinXP are required, a CPU with SSE is required (P3/P4/athlon). Moreover, FRAPS will become shareware.
